4-H Summer Camps for youth at Camp Hervida
Hervida 4-H Camp is nestled along the
banks of Wolf Creek approximately four miles south of Waterford, Ohio.
Situated on more than 200 acres in the beautiful hills of northwestern
Washington County, it is available from April through September for rentals.
Hervida 4-H Camp, Inc. is locally
funded and operated. The Internal Revenue Service recognizes it as a charitable
501(c)(3) entity. Managed in conjunction with Ohio State University Extension,
our mission is to extend Ohio 4-H through an outdoor residential camp
facility for the recreational, social and educational development of youth
and adults.
John Hervey, Agricultural Extension Agent, founded the camp in 1922
with the support of his wife Ida, a camp staff member. Initially, the
camp was used by 4-H and then other Extension programs. Now the camp is
available to youth groups, organizations, businesses and adult groups.
Over 5,000 youth and adults annually utilize Hervida 4-H Camp for recreational,
social and educational functions.
