Application Procedures
Application for the following scholarships apply for scholarship consideration through the State 4-H office. Some scholarships are college and major specific.

All American Youth Horse Show Foundation 4-H Scholarship

One $1,500.00 scholarship to be awarded. Applicants must be high school seniors and current 4-H horse members planning to enroll in the fall at any accredited post-secondary institution in any course of study.

Kathryn Beich 4-H Scholarship

One $500.00 scholarship to be awarded. Applicants must be high school seniors and current 4-H members planning to enroll in the fall at any accredited post­secondary institution in any course of study. Applicants must also reside in a county that participated in a Nestle-Beich candy fundraising program in 2001.

Mary E. Border Ohio Scholarship I

Two $1,000.00 scholarships to be awarded. Applicants must be high school seniors and current 4-H members planning to enroll in the fall at any accredited post­secondary institution in any course of study.

Ashley Brittany Calhoon 4-H Leadership Scholarship Fund

Income provides a scholarship for students who have been active in the 4-H program and are now attending or have been accepted at Ohio State in any area of study. Preference is given to applicants from Franklin County .

Bea Cleveland 4-H Scholarship

One $1,000.00 scholarship to be awarded annually to a 4-H member who is a senior in high school during the year of application. Applicants must be planning to enroll as a freshman, autumn quarter in the College of Human Ecology , at The Ohio State University or any of its regional campuses.

Bob Evans Farms, Inc. Scholarship I

Two $1,000.00 scholarships to be awarded. Applicants must be 4-H members, seniors in high school during the year of application, and planning to enroll Autumn Quarter in the College of Food , Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University.

William E. Goos Memorial Scholarship

One $1,000.00 scholarship to be awarded. Applicants must be 4-H members, seniors in high school during year of application, and planning to enroll Autumn Quarter at The Ohio State University main campus in Columbus in any area of study. Preference will be given to applicants from Butler , Preble and Hamilton counties (in that order). Once awarded, winner may re-apply for additional Goos scholarship monies for a maximum of one year.

Henderson Family Scholarship

One $600.00 scholarship to be awarded. Applicants must be high school seniors and current 4-H members planning to enroll in the fall at any accredited post­secondary institution in any course of study.

Jonard Family Scholarship

One $1,000.00 scholarship will be awarded. Applicant must be a present or former 4-H member, a senior in high school and planning to enroll as a freshman in the fall at The Ohio State University Columbus campus in any course of study. Preference will be given to applicants from Harrison and Jefferson counties. If there are no applicants from these counties, then preference will be given to applicants from Delaware county.

Charles & Gwyenna Lifer 4-H Scholarship

One $1,000.00 scholarship to be awarded. Applicants must be 4-H members, seniors in high school during year of application, and planning to enroll Autumn Quarter at The Ohio State University main campus in Columbus with a major in the area of agriculture or natural resources. Secondary eligibility will be given to seniors planning to attend the Agricultural Technical Institute (ATI) located in Wooster , Ohio . Preference will be given to applicants from Richland , Knox, and Monroe counties.

John T. Mount 4-H Achievement Fund

Provides an award to one or more undergraduate/ graduate students who are current or former 4­H members based on the merit of achievement in scholarship, effective leadership, dedicated service and actions that exemplify the ideals of 4-H. Application to and selection by the State 4-H Office.

John L. Ryant Memorial 4-H Agriculture Scholarship
$1,000.00 to be awarded to an incoming freshman enrolled in College of Food , Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University, preferably from Delaware County, who is a current or former 4-H member and who has demonstrated qualities of leadership.

Mabel Sarbaugh 4-H Scholarship

One $1,000.00 scholarship to be awarded. Applicants must be a 4-H member, senior in high school during the year of application, and planning to enroll Autumn Quarter in the College of Human Ecology as a freshman at The Ohio State University or any of its regional campuses.

Mr & Mrs G. Deming Seymour Scholarship

One $1,000.00 scholarship will be awarded. Applicant must be present or former 4-H member, senior in high school, and planning to enroll as a freshman in the fall at The Ohio State University, ATI or any of its regional campuses, in any academic area. Preference will be given to Richland County applicants.

The Paul A. Smith and Ethel I. Smith 4-H Scholarship Endowment Fund

Income provides scholarships to young people interested in pursuing an education in farming and agriculture at the College of Food , Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences in Columbus and at the regional campuses, including the School of Natural Resources and the Agricultural Technical Institute. The criteria for awarding the scholarships shall be based on a student’s documented involvement with 4-H leadership, citizenship, and school and community activities, along with the ability to maintain a GPA of at least 2.0.

W. Chaney and Jane S. Vance Family 4-H Fund

Income provides scholarships for current or former 4-H members from the State of Ohio who are currently, or will be, enrolled in the Colleges of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences or Human Ecology. Application to and selection by the State 4-H Office. Once awarded, winner may re-apply for additional Vance scholarship monies for a maximum of 4 years, provided student maintains a 2.5 minimum GPA and is enrolled in one of the specified colleges.

Washington County 4-H Endowment Fund

Annual income supports Washington County 4-H Youth Development Programs and may include scholarships and awards for Washington County 4-H members.

Alga D. Peg Weaver 4-H Scholarship

Two $1,200.00 scholarship to be awarded - $400.00 to be awarded for three (3) consecutive quarters providing the recipient maintains a minimum GPA of 2.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must be 4-H members, high school seniors during the year of application, and planning to enroll in the College of Human Ecology at The Ohio State University.
