Two
degrees are offered at ATI, an Associate of Science and an
Associate of Applied Science. The Associate of Science is
designed to be a transfer program to the Bachelors degree
offered at OSU in Columbus and the Associate of Applied Science
is designed as a terminal degree with employment at graduation.
As a result, applicability of credits is greater when following
an Associate of Science degree than with the Associate of
Applied Science. To determine how your coursework will transfer
from ATI to Columbus , go to the OSU
Course Applicability System (CAS) website. Please be
aware that while all credits will transfer, except for remedial
Math and English, not all credits may be applicable toward
the completion of your degree program at OSU Columbus if you
are following the Associate of Applied Science. We encourage
you to complete your Associate Degree at ATI before transferring,
if possible.
Students
who are interested in transferring to Columbus into the College
of FAES should contact Dr. Jill A. Pfister, Assistant Dean
of Academic Affairs. She can be reached at (614) 292-1734
or pfister.1@osu.edu
. Dr. Pfister visits ATI quarterly and her appointment schedule
is handled by Jill Gallion ( gallion.9@osu.edu). You should notify Dr. Pfister at least two quarters
in advance of the quarter you desire to transfer to Columbus
. She will assist you in completing an Intra-University Transfer,
which changes your campus of enrollment as well as your major.
The
Admissions Office will make the final decision on your transfer.
Criteria for admission as a transfer student can be found
at http://undergrad.osu.edu/admissions/trcriteria.asp
. Please become familiar with these criteria as well
as the admission requirements of the specific enrollment unit
in Columbus which offers the major that you are intending
to pursue. If you are interested in a major in the College
of Food , Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES)
and you are admissible to OSU Columbus Campus, then you are
also admissible to the College of Food , Agricultural, and
Environmental Sciences.
Dr.
Pfister will assist you in the transition to OSU Columbus
as well as helping you determine how your credits will be
applied to your degree. Please realize that there are two
types of courses offered at ATI. There are courses with a
"T" prefixing (i.e. Animal Tec. T210) and courses with no
prefix (i.e. Math 148). The courses with no prefix are the
same as OSU Columbus courses, therefore grades and credits
move with you to the Columbus campus. Courses with a "T" prefix
are treated as transfer credit. A grade of at least a C- must
be earned for the course to transfer, unless you complete
an Associate of Science degree, in which case grades of D
or D+ will transfer. Because these courses are treated as
transfer credit, the grades in the courses with a "T" prefix
do not impact your OSU Columbus grade point average, only
the hours transfer and equivalencies if available.
