The Wooster Campus Area
Situated in the rolling hills just outside Wooster, Ohio, the OSU Wooster campus draws students from far away and from just around the corner. Excellent facilities, including a tropical plant conservatory, construction lab, floral design studio, foaling barn and much more, draw students interested in all areas of plant health and agriculture. Nearby is the famous par-3, 168-yard golf hole featuring a USGA green - maintained by Wooster turfgrass students, of course.
Wooster itself is a suburban community of 25,000 in northeastern Ohio. The city and surrounding region offer plenty of opportunities for recreation and relaxation, and combine the best of city and country living. Each year brings new restaurants, stores and other businesses to the area, so great shopping and the latest movies are only a few minutes away. Art and cultural festivals abound during the summer in downtown Wooster, including the annual summer Ohio Light Opera series, July 4 festivities, and outdoor concerts featuring classical and popular music.
Within a short drive of Wooster, you'll find both beautiful countryside and bustling cities, making for a rich variety of weekend activities. Wayne County is home to thousands of Amish families, and in the fall, you'll enjoy a drive or a bike ride along back roads to see the picturesque farms that dot the landscape. Take in a ball game or Saturday night concert in Cleveland, just 57 miles away. Enjoy a peaceful Sunday morning fishing on Shreve Lake. Plan canoeing and hiking at Mohican State Park, shopping in Akron or a fun-filled Saturday at Cedar Point amusement park with friends. No matter what your idea of weekend fun includes, chances are pretty good you'll find it in or within a short drive of Wooster.
In addition to the Ohio State University Wooster campus, Wooster also is home to the College of Wooster, a local liberal arts college.
